Beynon's Colliery, Blaina.
Three shafts were originally sunk in the 1850's these were replace in 1922 shafts sunk by the Lancaster Steam Coal Collieries Ltd.
North Blaina and Lower Deep were absorbed by Beynon's in August and September 1923 respectively.
From a list 1923 Benyons including Lower Deep & North Blaina employed 1,427 men, producing from the Big, Three Quarter, Black and Meadow Vein seams.
The workforce numbered 681 in 1938.
In 1945 Benyons including Lower Deep & North Blaina employed 727 men.
During 1957 a workforce of 638 men produced 148,00 tons of coal.
The colliery closed in April 1975 after an underground fire.
