The Navigation Colliery, Talywain.
Sunk by the Powell Tilery Steam Coal Co. and also known as Powell's Navigation, the first coal was brought to the surface in 1913.
In 1918 there were 538 men employed.
From a list 1923, there were 651 men employed, producing from the Meadow Vein, Black Vein and Old Coal seams.
This colliery had a comparatively short life, it ceased production shortly after the general strike of 1926.
Partridge Jones & John Paton Ltd., later owned it and kept it for pumping only.
