Plasycoed New colliery, Cwnffrwdoer, near Pontypool, 2005.
Plasycoed colliery was first opened during the 1880's at Plasycoed farm by Mr. E. Harvey.
From the Inspector of Mines List 1896, it then employed 16, producing House coal from the Tillery seam.
By 1908 it was in the hands of David Jenkins employing 14 men.
In 1923 the owners were T and J Curtis with only 2 employed.

Consisting of 3 levels and situated at Pontynewyndd Cwmffrwdoer colliery (also known as the Plum Tree) was opened by the Blaendare Coal Co. Limited, but by 1880 was in liquidation.
By 1896 it was in the hands of David Jenkins, working the Tillery seam with 6 men.
In 1908 there were 16 employed.
